2 10-ounce packages of frozen broccoli (I usually use fresh)
2 cups sliced cooked chicken or Turkey (or more if you want)
2 10 1/2 ounce cans condensed cream of chicken soup
3/4 cup mayonnaise
1 teaspoon lemon juice
1 teaspoon curry powder
1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese (or more if you want)
2 cups or so of cubed bread crumbs to cover cheese
Cook broccoli till tender, drain well. Arrange stalks in a greased 12x 71/2 x2 inch baking dish. Layer chicken on top. Combine next 4 ingredients, pour over chicken. Sprinkle with cheese. Top with cubed bread crumbs (fairly small cubes). Bake at 350 about 40-50 minutes or till heated through.
* I usually cover the casserole with foil for about 1/2 hour and then put the bread crumbs on afterwards and continue cooking for another 15 minutes or so until the crumbs are brown.
Now that I m doing the cooking, I appreciate how easy it is to make Chicken Divan as much as I love how it tastes.
